Bush Approval-Dissaproval Poll

CBS News reports that “President George W. Bush’s overall job approval rating has reached the lowest ever measured in this poll:”

Do you approve or dissaprove of the job President Bush is doing?
Approve: 37%
Dissaprove: 58%

A Rassmussen Report released today has 47% of American adults strongly or somewhat approving of the way George W. Bush is performing his role as President.

Left:Yesterday our friends on the Right mentioned a former President being “synonymous with failure.” A former President?

Right:What are his problems? A left-wing media with one goal in mind: Bring Bush down; rising gas prices outside his control, a devastating Hurricane once again outside his control, and a vicious Iraqi insurgency once again outside his control. This President can and will recover.

“A left-wing media”?!

Oh come on. We’ve got FOX, CNN, and the various wingnut talk shows. And this administration is particularly apt at controlling the messages that get carried to the media, (sometimes to the point of breaking the law). The right is definately represented in the media, and if anything, there’s a general leaning to the right.

The Iraqi insurgency out of Bush’s control? That would be true if he hadn’t been the one to decide that we should invade Iraq. By your logic, if Bush were to push someone off a tall building, he’d not be responsible for their inevitable impact with ground because he has no control over gravity.

And please stop saying that Bush’s detractors are blaming him for a hurricane. Perhaps a few moonbat conspiracy theorists are, but most people I know are appalled at the federal response to the hurricane, as lead by Bush’s unqualified political toady appointees.

What are his problems?

I voted for him, and here are the problems I see
1) Border Security (or a complete lack of)
2) Spending (I thought the Repub’s were the party of smaller government.)
3) Miers (So much for getting conservative judges in)
4) Allow somebody to build some new refineries in this country. And get the oil out of ANWR while you’re at it!

Ford hits it on the head: Bush’s problems stem from the fact that conservatives are realizing he doesn’t really support their principles, despite all the lip service he’s given them.

Instead of shrinking government and enhancing our freedom, the administration has turned the power of the government power to serve the interests of their political allies. Now that Gee-Dub doesn’t have to worry about getting elected again, the betrayal has become even more obvious than ever before. And with public support for the war on the wane, the administration is running out of issues to hide behind.

We can only hope people remember this the next time a candidate propped up by the super-rich promises to stand up for the common man.

When things are going well, it doesn’t take much to be a leader. When there are crisis, thats when leadership or lack thereof shows. I voted for Bush 43 the first time, but didn’t make that mistake twice.

Funny how when polls were good, the right-wing didn’t spare us the results, but when things turn nasty and people realize what Bush has done to this country and the polls reflect it, its all of a sudden the “left liberal” medias fault.

JoeTx: Accusing the media of bias is a win-win for them. When a story reflects poorly on the administration, it just proves how the media’s out to get them. When a story favors the administration, it must be true if even the “liberal” media is acknowledging it.

The crosstabs and deeper analysis show that their weighted sample oversampled Democrats by a whopping amount, over 10%!! This has happened in many polls since July and make them very suspect. This analysis is necessary to properly interpret the data. Most journalists either can’t or won’t engage in it. Is Bush down? Sure. But these numbers are scientifically serious.
